Hi all,

New to this forum but unfortunately not new to chronic pain of many types, chronic fatigue, Chronic thyroid disease, chronic autoimmune diseases, chronic connective tissue disorder, chronic dysautonomia, chronic MCAD, (deadly allergic to many, many things including most of the hard hitting pain killers, antirheumatics, oral NSAIDs lots of foods etc etc etc. Chronic diseases related to getting old, chronic diseases related to being chronically ill for the best part of my 50 years.Chronic seriously bad genes, thus chronically sick and tired of always being sick and tired and lastly chronic ability to laugh instead of cry with a large portion of seriously black humor thrown in.

All of the above is true but don't let that put you off, like I keep telling my long suffering husband and kids I am actually a very nice person...................considering Ha ha ha

Anyway because I am allergic to so many drugs I go to a holistic Dr, in my Dr's case this means she is a conventionally trained Dr that also prescribes allot of non conventional treatments. One of the things I am interested in trying is PEA, which I found and asked her if she would prescribe it for me and obviously monitor me in it's use. I have known her for about 15 years, she treats my kids too so we have a good working relationship. So my Dr read up on it and was happy for me to try it. I have seen a few posts mentioning people on here are using it. I am wondering if any one can tell me if they had any reactions to it. As well as that I know it has to come from a compounding chemist but I am wondering if anyone can tell me where they get theirs from and approx how much it is please and thank you in advance.

The other thing I would love to know the same as above about is LDN. My Dr has been trying to get me to try this for pain and inflammation for about a year. My kids were on it many years ago to boost their immune systems and it worked very well for them. Trouble is, as I have aged my allergies have increased in number and severity so I keep putting it off. I have built up the courage to try it, now I just need to know where to order it from, where I used to get it closed down. So if you very kind people can share any thing about LDN with me, ie where you get yours from and how much it is I would appreciate it very much.

Please and thank you very much.

Hi chronic,
I have been taking PEA for a couple months now and have not noticed a change in my pain, but I am not giving up hope just on my 2nd bottle. I picked up my bottle from my local chemist. Not a compounding chemist. It has 100 x 350gm capsules and cost $39.95.
Maybe I will start taking two a day and see if that helps speed up any relief. Not a sign of any form of side effect but was told it has none. Being a natural product in our body.
Sorry can’t help on the LDN, never heard of that one, will google it and read up a bit.
Good luck hope some one else pops in.

Hi Emma, personally I noticed no change . I was taking PEA just over 4 and a half months. So gave up on them. But that’s me and you might get some benefit. Goodluck . Harpy
