Hi Marley,

Thank you for your reply. The encouragement was great and a good reminder of some positives. Fear is a terrible thing and at times it overwhelms me.

Thankfully I have some hope on the horizon after having seen a new specialist who suspects the problem is actually in my spine and not the SI joint. So I am having a Facet Block Injection and a month later an SI injection. These will hopefully give us an idea of where the problem is and if so he may have some suggestions for treatment. I am crossing my fingers it is the spine as this has treatment options whereas the SI Joint is pretty much non-treatable he believes.

I shall continue to struggle and hang in and am using this forum as a support :)

Hi Beck

Thank you for a post that sounds as if you are feeling more positive and this forum may have been helpful.

Finding positivies can be hard and getting the courage to go back to doc just as hard.

I really hope the injections give you some pain relief. Not knowing what they are, be aware you may get some instant relief, and then pain before things settle and help you manage your pain. Please remember not to get too carried away if you get some instant pain relief and take it slowly as not to over do it and undo any benefit from the injections.

Looking for alternatives is a challenge and an achievement in itself. It is a positive step.

Once I could see the good to me
Holding the world inside
Now the world is grey to me
Nobody can see you gotta believe it
Oh oh the night comes down
And I get afraid of losing my way
Oh oh the night comes down
And it’s dark again

Hi Bek glad to hear you are seeking another opinion. I have seen 5 specialists. I have sent you a personal message regarding faith. Hope you get some help soon to reduce your suffering, hang in there and keep looking forward. I know how despairing pain can be but you are not alone together we all give each other hope and you may come across someone in the forums who has had your problem and can give you a better avenue of treatment. God bless, christopher

Keep looking forward , the sun is still shining behind the clouds.

Hi Bek, if you can work you are one of the lucky ones...I wish I could say that but I tried and the pain was too much in my feet and back that it was impossible so now I will loose my house...it's only a matter of time...so if you can hang in there good, do it! Before the pain is out of control and it leaves you no choice but to give in and you'll get medically terminated like I did...I didn't want too..I loved my job but my condition wouldn't allow me to work at all!

Seek an opinion with a neuro-surgeon, it sounds like you need one!

Kindest Regards
Eliza

Hi Eliza,
Yes I know I am lucky to still be working. I am sorry that you weren't able to and that you lost your house. I am scared this could happen to me one day.

I had one of my first injections yesterday and so far it seems to have helped. I am just praying that this leads to a diagnosis and some treatment.

I really hope that things improve for you and that you are able to find moments in the sun!
