What about grilling on charcoal?
Anyone from here likes grilling on charcoal? Is any health risk if you do it 2-3 times per week? I cook regularly on charcoal , fishes and pork.
Hi rcfunker,
On this debate the jury is still out, on one side we have researchers saying is causes cancer, and then there are others who say the link between cancer and cooking on coals is very thin.
Over the years we have had many foods that have been portrayed as being bad for us, potatoes, eggs and many more, all have been proven to be wrong, I love my weber and I don't use heat beads preferring charcoal for the taste factor, I also love my spit roasts of whole pig or lamb.
Don
Some persons prefer the flavor of charcoal cook foods over foods cooked with gas. There is some controversy surrounding the health effects such as it increases the risk of developing cancer. But it has not been established by the scientific or medical community. But foods grilled on Charcoal have less fat. So as of now it has no harm to eat foods that grilled on charcoal.
Hi rcfunker,
Being a retired chef I have learnt that the medical fraternity say one thing to you and do the exact opposite themselves, if you cook on charcoal it could help your teeth which is a good thing.
As long as you eat home made foods and not take always I believe you should be fairly healthy , my doctor told me I was obese 85kg & 5'7" so I turned to him and said pot calling the kettle and pointed to his muffin top he stopped calling me obese haha
Johnno
as long as I wake up alive I'm happy Because it could be worse
