hi guys.yes, this has been discussed before a while back.i am miserable with my allergies.i have suffered bad facial pain under the eyes, around the eyes and eyebrows for years and years now.all over the counter sprays and tablets do not help.4 months ago i saw an allergist after waiting 18 months on the waiting list.by the way,he is a private allergist and the only one around our area.he put me on these expensive sprays from america and eyedrops and said come back in 4 months. he believed this was a strong approach to my problems.needless to say,it has not helped at all and my allergies are giving me nasty headaches everyday.i am seeing my allergist tomorrow and i will be telling him what is going on.my only other option is immunotherepy which i can't afford.this allergist charges $415.00 for the first visit and it goes from there.does anyone else suffer allergy pain and does it create bad headaches and what are you doing to help this issue.i am allergic to all grasses and dustmites and cats.i know, that sounds funny.lucky i don't have a cat anymore.i can barely get through my days and i hate being stuck in bed with heatpacks all the time.my pain clinic doctor has upped the dose of gabepentin but it is not helping either.any suggestions guys?thanks.

Titan Gabapentin I don't think will have any affect on your face pain from allergies, most of this pain is caused by pressure and fluid build up in the sinuses. The irritants you have listed are very common for sinus sufferers and you can't escape them in today's world unless you live inside a bubble, if your specialist has no other approach I would advice you to go through immunotherapy, I know the cost is an issue, but how much longer can you go on like this, short term financial pain having the treatment done will save you a lot of money long term and pain and suffering, maybe see a financial councillor to work out a budget so that you can afford this treatment.

thanks grappers.as usual, you always say the right thing which makes me feel better.i am going crazy with all of this pain and i just want it to stop.i guess we all say that one.i will discuss immunotherepy with him tomorrow and see how it goes.i think a lot of people out there are suffering allergies and sinus like me.not very pleasant.i need to move to the north pole and then it would all stop.ha ha.thanks again grappers.

Hi Titan,

You may end up spending more on those expensive nasal sprays in the long run. My husband uses one, so I know how much they cost!

That sounds like a plan Titan. I hope it works for you. I am sure that it sounds worse than it really is and it has to be way better than surgery!

Good luck with it.

Titan I have, my son has and my granddaughter have had our noses cauterised, it is a painless approach they spray a sedative up there first to deaden the area. The spray you are using at the moment will take time to build up and help with all the pain, remember you have a lot of inflammation and one dose is not going to make much of a difference, stick with it the next few days should slowly make an improvement.

thanks grappers.i am not coping with the amount of pain my allergies are causing and i have finished the nasal spray which has not helped at all.i know it can take time but i am not meant to take anymore nasal spray for about 3 weeks.the headaches from it are blowing into migraines all the time and i am falling apart.i should not whinge.i feel lonely and really down due to all this pain.did you find getting your nose cauterised helped with your allergy pain or do you suffer sinus?i am thinking of ringing back the allergists and trying to get in quicker instead of waiting 8 weeks in intense pain.if the spray has not worked now,i don't think it will work in 3 weeks time.thanks for your support and concern.it means a lot to me.

Titan this year to date I have been very lucky with my sinusitis, no major flare-ups. Runny noses, sneezing and fluid build up behind the eyes I have had but not to the extent they use to get to, I can control them with over the counter sprays rather than the heavy duty ones on prescription.

Titan you may have polyps inside your sinus cavities and this is what they burn off, when they are in there they catch the irritants become swollen and infected and this infection is very hard to clear, hence why you pain doesn't go.

Mrs Shingles Titan55 has had this problem ongoing for a couple of years now, she has tried all known over the counter sprays and nasal flushes, there was a big thread before the forum crashed with her keeping us up to date, she is seeing this specialist in hope of clearing her sinus problems and has been going for about a year know.
