Hi Everyone,

This is just a note to let you all know that our Moderator Don (Grappers) is having to take an extended break from moderating, due to personal reasons.

Don has been moderating this Forum almost from the day it started and I can tell you as the Administrator of it, I am going to miss him big time. He is part of the backbone that makes up this forum. He and Jo do a wonderful job at keeping this forum alive and functioning, something I would struggle to do on my own.

Don has said that if things settle down a bit in the future he might ask to come back as a moderator. Let's hope that things improve in the future.
He will still be a member of the Forum, but will probably not spend a lot of time in here for a while, because of his need to be focused elsewhere.

Please join with me in giving Don a huge big thank you for all he has done for us.

All the best my Friend. Don't forget to drop in to say G'Day if you get the chance!

Peter

Sorry to hear that things are not too good with you Don. We will miss you enormously. I hope that you can see your way clear to return in the future.

Thank you SO much for all your hard, selfless work.

Hugs,

Mary

Don. You are an absolute legend. Always the well thought out response. There for those requiring technical advice on their pain implants or support in emotional pain. Whatever path you are travelling down tread gently. lindsay.

Thanks guy's, been missing for awhile, things have been hectic, been having lots of tests to find out why I am losing weight, no answers yet, at the moment it is stable at 62 kilo, pain has spread and getting daily chest pains, but they reckon it's not my heart playing up again, no answer for that one either, back to not sleeping much, oh what fun!!
Missus is also going downhill fast also, her autoimmune disease is getting worse she has lost all strength in both arms and hands, which also affects her 3 types of arthritis she has, she is now on more medication than what I am on including all my heart meds and cholesterol meds.
So it's fun and games at home on who can do what around the house, but some things you just have to do no matter what, so we both now have chronic pain problems at the same time, she has found beds just as uncomfortable as me, not uncommon to have two grumpy people at the same time because of lack sleep and pain, endone has been getting a workout with both of us taking it.
Those that know we have been arguing about the care of our autistic granddaughter, we are now on a third agency for carers, fighting both Disabilities services and Mentals services who are still arguing who looks after her mental state, she has tried several times to commit suicide, and yet no one wants to help, just buck passing.

Don

Hi Don,

Thanks so much for the update.

Really sorry to hear that your health has gotten so much worse, as well as your wife. The stress of that alone, must be terribly burdensome. I do hope they can find out what is causing your weight loss soon.

It is terrible that you have to fight these damn people over the care of your granddaughter. It is a sad indictment on these depts and the lying politicians who go around spruiking their crap about how good your health system is. It's pretty much identical here in WA, with an equally idiotic govt wasting billions on an damn football ground that isn't needed, while they cut money from the health system. One of the country's best multidisciplinary pain clinics is now gone, because these idiots cut it from the health budget.

Mate, I do hope that things improve for both you and your wife, but most especially for your granddaughter. She deserves to be treated with a great deal more respect and care than she has been shown to date. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Please keep us informed on how you guys get on.

Take care Mate!

Peter

Johnno,
Wish I knew, haven't changed any of my eating habits, nor my exercise or leasure routines, the weight just fell away, my hormone level also shot down, even with the regular injections to boost it. I have gone through all the tests for bowel cancer once again, it's not the first time this has happened, it happened in my 20s, I was off work for 6 months, that time I went down to 46 kilos, spent more time in hospital than home, I had diagnoses from bowel cancer, crohne, coeliac and many others, they ended up doing an exploratory operation, out came my appendice and then closed up, given high strenght antibiotics for months after, it all settled and I put weight back on, until now.

Don

Mate I hope they work out what's causing it isn't much fun when stuff like this happens and no one can help.
If you were younger they'd say you had hollow legs or worms?
Hope they can work it out and get you hale and healthy again
Cheers

Ah Don, you are indeed a mystery!
But I do hope they get to the bottom of it.

Oh My dear Don, I'm so very sorry to hear about this tonight.

You were always there for me at my lowest period by personal email or on this forum.
We fell off contact for a while after Quest for life but I've always been thinking of you and your wife and your grand daughter who you have fought hard for. I'm so sorry to hear about your wife's downfall in health, it's truely saddened me!

You have been my tower of strength and you have helped me through my toughest times.

I dearly hope there is a ray of sunshine in your life at this lowest point of your life and I hope there is some medical intervention for your wife and a positive outcome for your grand daughter who you have cared for with all your love!!!

Warmest Regards
Eliza
