Hi everyone,
I found on facebook that Macquarie University is offering a free online Pain course: https://www.ecentreclinic.org/?q=PainCourse .

Their website says:

The Pain Course is a free, online and internet-delivered pain management program designed to provide good information about chronic pain and to teach practical skills for the management of chronic pain and emotional wellbeing. We developed the Pain Course because Chronic Pain is a very common condition. But, many people have limited access to or are not able to access specialist pain management services. Many people also experience difficulties accessing effective, evidence-based, pain management programs that teach them how to manage the impact of their pain on their day-to-day lives.

We developed the Pain Course with the hope of helping reduce the impact that chronic pain, stress, anxiety, low mood and depression have on what people are able to do day-to-day and on peoples' quality of life.

You need to fill out an application form and they get in contact with you to let you know if you have got in. I think they use the results for research, but i'm not completely sure.

Thought you'd like to know! 🙂

Hi em_ja,

I did one of the "free" chronic pain courses whilst it was helpful in some ways they were a bit anal and pushy in other ways but if it's free give a eagle eye out for it

as long as I wake up alive I'm happy Because it could be worse

This online course is a very good course. We have had the link to this course on our forum for more than 2 years. We once had a lot of members do the course and most of them benefited from it very much.
See the thread we created for people to discuss the clinic:
https://www.chronicpainaustralia.org.au/index.php/forum/pain-clinics/12709-i-ve-applied-for-ecentreclinic-online-pain-course

I have done the course and I have to tell you that I actually had a few 'aha' moments and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of knowledge and experience these doctors have.

The Ecentreclinic pain course is a legit and very effective online course for chronic pain and it is recognised here in Australia. I would encourage all of you to do this course, because it will educate you, get you thinking about your pain condition and it will teach you many self managing tips, many of which you may already know, but there may be new ones too.

So please go sign up and also, let them know where you got the information from, because I have been plugging them for some time now and they would like to know.

And just so you know. Chronic Pain Australia has no association with the Ecentreclinic and derives no benefit from encouraging people to do the course. After all, the course is for free!

Hi
i have just finished the last run of the course. It was very helpful and did approach a few things differently to my pain clinics but I am always happy for more information and ways to deal with CP so everything is welcome. It is still abit to early to say how much it has helped but definitely some. i would recommend it. It was good in that i could do it from home and mostly at my own pass with fairly spacious deadlines.

Hi Wendles,
How long did it take you to do the course as the one I did which was good but they were pushy sometimes.
I'd be very interested to know .
Thanks Wendles
