Pain Clinic prior to lumbar surgery?
For Pamcarr and anyone else needing support, the Beyond Blue pages are also a good place to find a shoulder to cry on, they've helped me when things got tough. B)
Hey WTC,
Another mn after my own heart reasonably active and to lose the ability to kick a ball ,body board, snow board, walk a dog, walk around shops, run, garden, drive long distances(without huge breaks),paint (my wife painted the interior of our house took her 3months),pick up grandchildren,do rain forest walks, drink (alchohol) I was a moderate drinker ,ride a bike ,exercise or maintain ones love life as it were (7 long years) I don't think it will happen again due to pain medication.
I turn 55 in eight days .
So mate I feel your pain literally and physically except you can ride a bike I have burning pain from my back travelling down my right leg, and yes I had to cease work due to chronic pain which makes you so tired that you tend to fall asleep halfway through a conversation ,I did that at my parents house one day we were yakking away and I just dropped off to sleep sitting still and upright had a 5 min snooze and carried on as though nothing had happened .
Some weird things happen and sorry to say some are so funny you can laugh at yourself , if you can't laugh it's a shame.

as long as I wake up alive I'm happy Because it could be worse

While I was waiting at the physio's office I drifted off. When my name was called I woke up startled and disoriented, must've just been about to start dreaming. In the evenings I sit and watch a show, but miss out on half of it due to constantly nodding off. Oddly, I still hear the voices and start having dreams associated with the plot of the show.
The burning pain is what I get in my lower back, but the tension pain in the nerves go down my leg and make my foot feel like it is in a bucket of ice. I also get that sharp stabbing in the spine when walking, which a lot of us know is something you just cannot ignore no matter how much you try. Does anybody else get that kind of feeling like something sharp is wedged between the joints of your back and you just feel like digging in and ripping it out of there?
Oh woe to us, will there ever be a permanent cure for these ailments?
Hi WTC This is one of the "Old Farts " your referring to.. Nice to be noticed. 🙂 🙂
I not sure but does Canberra have a Fish pond where for a fee you can catch a fish ??
I know somewhere in Australia there is one ,not sure where.
Or conversely you could place a blow up swimming pool in you back yard stock it with carassus carrassus or if feeling more adventurous Pirahnas. Maybe difficult to remove them from the hook but then again think of the excitment as you take your finger to the hospital to have it reattached.
I have 5 Goldfish which keep me busy each day and I have philosophical discussing regularly, though I cant understand why they ROL 😆 😆
Ps Is your plane Gloplug I see down here in Melbourne now theyre using Drone engines at 30,000 rpm Incredible
PPs Any chance of a Picture ???
Cheers Arjay
Good Morning Arjay. I used to have tropical freshwater fish but the algae was a total nightmare to control, especially because it was out in the BBQ area in the sun. There are a few fishing holes in the area, but they are nothing like lake Eucumbene where you can get a big fire going and not be bothered by anybody. The views up there are fantastic too. Catching fish in a blow up pool sounds like a fun idea, even creating a fish stocking pond for the public to fish in would be a great business idea. I've thought of introducing some fish to the water quality control pond down the end of our street but it dries up in summer, so their chance of survival is pretty limited. Worth a shot though, especially if I can get some yabbies to survive there first as food for them.
My plane is a Supercub S ready to fly electric, brushed motor foam plane. It was a good starting point but I think I'm already up to the point where I need ailerons and a bit more power as I've managed to blow up one motor and the second is already having issues. Bit too hard on the gear doing loop the loops. Maybe with my tax return money I can splurge on a brushless warbird. I'm not too keen on the gas powered versions yet until I have some more flight hours under my belt.
