Hey Dancer,
I always aim to please my wife only stays with me because I can still make her laugh after 34 years of marriage and going out with her for approx 5 years before that so thank you for giving you a smile.
When I smile now my sons tend to start to distance themselves from me I think they might know what comes after the smile he he he

Hi Gayl
Man gotta love those hospitals. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you about those gloves hun but I have some good news. Neither of us have to pay for them. My Auntie was at mum's when I called in for the magazine and when I mentioned the gloves she said she brought a pair but doesn't use them, (impulse shopping). She only wore them once to try them on so if you can private message me your address I'll get them into the mail. And by the sounds of it the sooner the better.
I really wish we lived closer so I could pop around to help you 🙁
Wow arjay, the side effects of these Prednisone tablets don't sound very good but I've just had my breakfast and taking it along with my other tablets. Fingers crossed they work and I don't punch holes in the wall.....that would hurt my hands too much lol 😆

Thank you Jacquie and thank your Aunty for me too, that's a lovely thought.. I'll pm you my address......you are such a kind and caring person Jacquie 🙂
So many posts so early in the morning too, did pain wake you so early? I've taken the prednisone and hoping for a good day; at least better than yesterday. Take care

hi everyone, again thank you for all your support and encouragement to keep fighting this ...
I have made contact with a private mental health clinic, and have had a long and tearful assessment with a mental health nurse, and my admission is being arranged, however.... because it is my granddaughters baby shower on Saturday and a day pass is not guaranteed.. we have decided that I will go to hospital on Monday, it is a 3week program... so will need to have a talk with my kids and let them know whats been going on... will be difficult conversation, but one that needs doing...
again thanks for spurring me on... esp on my most difficult of days xxx
Hi Pamcarr,
I'm so pleased you are getting the help you need 🙂 We will always be here for you whether to share in your highs or lows 🙂
Good luck for Monday and keep us posted on your progress.
Big hugs
Jo xx

Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow 'til there's none
When I'm stuck with a day that's grey and lonely
I just stick out my chin and grin and say, oh
The sun will come out tomorrow
So you gotta hang on
'til tomorrow, come what may!"

Hi Johnno
It is totally nuts that they think you can work 40 hours but then again it has happened to many of us. They just think enough time has past or they dont believe so they just expect us to magically jump back into work the very next day after months or years of being unable to work. How stupid does that make them, if we cant work one day it isnt going to totally change by the following day. I hope it gets sorted for you.

hi Tequilablue
I also have been on Prednisone and yes it has some nasty side effects but usually they dont kick in until you have been on it for a week or more but do get on line and read the information about this medication. It is actually a form of chemotherapy which is why it knocks out your immune system. When you next see you GP talk about whether this is a suitable choice for you.

Hi Wendy
I don't know how long Prednisone takes to get into your system but today I feel very nauseous and have a headache. I'm off to see my Dr later today but to be honest I don't think I like these tablets as my hands are still sore and useless. Maybe I need to give them time to kick in but will go by what my Dr says. He might up my other meds instead of the Prednisone.

Hi pamcarr and well done on taking these steps to help you to keep up the good fight. You are so brave and I admire you as it must have been hard to contact these people and agree to be admitted, well done and I'm sending you cyber hugs and good wishes for you. I'm sure your family will support you no matter what and if you can keep us up to date on how things are going for you while you are in hospital. Very proud of you pamcarr

Hi Gayl Hope you didnt take them on a empty stomach.
They should have given you a consumer pamphlet , as quite a number of other medications do interact with Prednisolone . If not talk to your Dr or chemist, They may be able to suggest something to reduce the discomfort you are experiencing.
Hope its only a passing symptom while getting used to it.
Warm regards Arjay 🙂
Hi arjay, no I take them with breakfast and my other tablets and I'm still feeling a bit yuck in the stomach. I saw my Dr today and he wants me to take them until Saturday and then start a course of 5mg Prednisone, reducing them over days. He thinks that because they have helped with the swelling in my hands and the pain; all to a certain degree, he is pushing the Rheummy to see me sooner. While he doesn't think it's rheumatoid arthritis he said that there are a lot of different complaints that come under the rheumatoid umbrella. So I guess it's back to the waiting game.

Hi Teq,
Well you have some good news (well a little bit) & seeing the rheumy sooner could be helpful.
Just know we're here

hi Gayl
Prednisone can be very helpful at those lower doses so hopefully it will help. i found for me it did help with my CRPS but not with my really big CP problems so I decided that the benefits didnt out weight the side effects hopefully that isnt the case for you. 🙂 If you do stop make sure it is slowly weened off.
