We have a venting page but I thought it would be good to have a page to share the things that happen in our life that warm our hearts, make us smile and make us glad that we keep struggling along.

Sometimes we cant find our own so maybe sharing each others it will help us through those dark days. Lets focus on some positives. πŸ™‚

What an excellent idea Wendles!

Let's do it.

Hi All
I will start off with the first smile moment. I made a friend a cake as she is having a really bad time with a sick husband. I gave it to her this morning and it just made her day. It seems today was an extra hard day and it helped lighten the load and gave her cake for breakfast.(that's always good) πŸ™‚

That's wonderful Wendles. I always feel that both parties derive happiness in these cases. As for cake for breakfast - that's why I never keep chocolate in the house, because if it is here, for some reason I have to have a piece after breakfast!

Yes Mary it made me feel good all over that I could make her day start with a smile even if it gets harder later at least she knows someones is thinking of her and that is special. To know that you are in someones thoughts is a huge thing, you are not so alone in the world.

I made someone smile and get teary yesterday. My youngest son took me grocery shopping and we came by one of his footy team mates parents, the lady is in a wheelchair and on oxygen, she had her hands on the trolley whilst her husband was pushing her wheelchair. I commented that they needed a "road train" sign!!

One of our sons other team mates wives was recently diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer and the boys raised a few thousand dollars for the family, whilst in the meantime nothing has been done for the lady we saw yesterday, whom has terminal leaukemia.

Anyway, I decided to go and buy her a flower arrangement and go and give it to her, just to say someone was thinking of her. She was overjoyed and her husband was just stunned. I don't know these people other than to say "G'day" as we pass each other. It gave me a really good feeling too!

Smiles really are contagious too!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Hi Florrie,

That was a good thing to do for that woman. She deserved it. In fact, we all deserve. And we are all responsible for this charitable behaviour too, but most of us simply can't be bothered or we just don't think of it at the time.

People don't realise that we all belong to each other. If someone is suffering, it is the responsibility of everyone else to help out. And yes, it is a responsibility. There is no escaping the 'human family.'
We are not animals at all, contrary to what some scientists may wish to convince you that we are. We are nothing of the sort. We are much more highly evolved than animals, but when you look around, you wouldn't think so would you.

To take the time to show a little charity, is not only fulfilling your responsibility, it is telling the person who receives your gift of kindness, that they matter and that you actually care about their plight.

We all need to do this, because it is indeed our responsibility!

Peter

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide, is what to do with the time that is given to us. (Gandalf the Grey)

we went out to check the horses on the weekend and i hopped the fence to give our big boy a cuddle and get my horse fix. Dont tell, as I am only suppose to be looking and not touching πŸ˜‰ Anyway our tall boy decided to drape his neck over me and lean his head on top of mine so I was tucked neatly in under him, leaning against his chest. I looked like i was being measured by him but not in hands high but 1 horse high. :cheer:

Feeling so excited and happy with the news that our eldest daughter Rachel is now engaged after her boyfriend David proposed to her at Kings Canyon while on their 4wd trip. Our future son in law rang to ask her father before popping the question and presenting her with a beautiful ring , which was lovely. We are celebrating her 21st on Saturday night, so i think its going to be an even bigger night now !!

Had a very unusual surprise on my birthday yesterday that had me in smiles for the rest of the day. It also had my family and neighbour in smiles too πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
I had gone down the back of the yard and popped in to say Hi to the hens as I do and was stunned to see a furry black bundle in with them. It seems my hens are very clever and had hatched a kitten. It was about 8 weeks old but much smaller then she should be. Already named Chook, it didnt take me too long to teacher her to lap milk and fall asleep purring on my lap, so didnt get much done πŸ™‚ . She already has a new home lined up when she is big enough but she had so many people oowing and ahhhing over her after work I am not surprised.

A big smile day! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday for yesterday Wendles. Oh what clever chooks you have and what a lovely unexpected suprise. My two cats bring me so much unconditional love and i always have one or the other keeping me company through the days and long nights. I find stroking my cats and hearing them purr to be very calming when i am upset or agitated. It sounds like Chook will be well loved and cared for.

Hi Mrs S
Chook was not alone, we found 2 more kittens (or now being called chittens due to them being part chicken, lol) in with the hens a few days later. They are all doing well and should be easy to find homes as they are just sweet little things.
