Hi all I feel that my gp has lost all interest in my chronic pain and has become dismissive when I see him with pain in new areas.eg I expressed to him I was have dizzy spell and head ache after turning my head.i know I have narrowing in cervical region of spine but was told to get a massage and see how I go..
I am seeing a neurosurgeon in a week's time so I'll check with him but it's very upsetting to be brushed off as if uour a hypochondriac.
Not sure if anyone can recommend a practice that deals with chronic back and neck pain with neuropathy in both legs and left arm
I can travel to the Hunter area but looking g for someone on the mid north coast

johnno here mate if you change your doctor it could look like doctor shopping , bring the dizziness up with your nuerosurgeon they should investigate and at least be able to fix it or give you a prognosis at least so just hang in there and go to the nuerosurgeon with a list and go from there.
I hope this helps especially as the nuerosurgeon should send you to your GP with a letter and or notify your GP

I found a doctor and explained my situation to him .He's an anethetist specialising in pain management but also a gp.
He is moving to my area as he's had enough of Sydney and he's been doing a few days a week here .he has agreed to look at my records but not issue any medication.
If I'm comfortable with him and it seems he can do something for me then I will move from my current gp over to him .
I already have a copy of my records I got from gp for disability services so giving him my full history was simple .
So now I'll visit him a few times and he knows my neurosurgeon so I can get info sent to him so hoping some progress might be possible but not pinning g my future on it
