That's one past time I try and every opportunity even when in pain, once out there wetting a line pain is less severe mind is too focused on the cat and mouse game of catching one, if I bought another rod and reel the wife would go nut so as she thinks I have too many know, last count was 58 but they all have there purposes and I never fish alone so you have to double up.
Braddo don't be in too much of a hurry coming off the patches, I know the sores and welts drive you crazy and the hit and miss with pain relief, but withdrawals are far worse. Enjoy the time fishing, we do certainly have time to the wet the rod given the weather doesn't hold us back and the fresh air does a world of good.

braddo, good on you for getting that fishing rod! i have never been intp fishing but i can certainly see how it can bee an ideal distraction from what you have to deal with the chronic pain stuff and i think the mere fact that you are talking about going fishing shows that you have come a long way- sounds like maybe there are at least a couple oof you out there into fishing- maybe you can compare your catches etc- you do really sound as though you are getting through the worst of the withdrawal stuff now, that must feel good

Braddo, you don't say how much walking you have done. Is it possible that you have overdone things? You can get all sorts of strange symptoms with chronic pain. If the numbness persists then run it by your Dr. at the next visit. Has it happened before?

ever wished someone could point you in the right direction . re patches I'm sitting on a 10 mcg change over is tomorow. Now me being impatient I want to just stop , cause I don't think THEASE are helping MABY they are MABY not , if I drop down to a 5 and get ill I may as well do a 10 drop and atleast it will end instead of prelonging the dam things and just take lyerica and ibprophen. and the panadole. I know it's a doctor question. :woohoo:

Hey Brad, my legs are numb! That's why I need physio ....oh Mary "over done things" I have the horrible strange symptoms too... It's nerve damage.... πŸ‘Ώ

Brad and this is my opinion only... It's probably not worth reducing any more on the patches, your probably prolonging the inevitable like you say......I think you have been reducing the dam patches really well considering the side effects you have been experiencing. ..maybe a few days on the 10 then you might as well drop off them completely and be prepared for your symptoms to really flare up and wait and see how you cope.

It's not really a dr question Brad, its basically up to you what you take then...you know your own body and what you can handle....I have facet arthritis thingo going on too.

Your doing really well considering the amount of pain you're in. B)

i can understand the logic bu i tend to disagree with Eliza, yes it is your body and therefore you have the right to make decisions but they should be informed decisions- yes withdrawal is often simply a very unpleasant process but depending om the substance involved and or the the length of time a [person has been dependent it can have the potential to be a serious issue( alcohol withdrawal for instance can be fatal if done too quickly) so you should at least tell your docotr your plans so they can advise on whether it is safe to do so that abruptly or not- you have come a long way and either way its would not be much longer

Speaking of Norspan patches...for a while there 10mg doing good job at bringing pain to manageable level...and I had a glimpse of leading a more interactive life.

Cruelly, over several months, the Norspan wide range of side effects started getting worse instead of settling. Pharmacist suggested it was building toxicity the longer I took it.

GP has put me back to 5mg. Pain in jaw increased a lot from lesser strength.. Hurts very much to talk especially since wrenching jaw from vomiting on 10mg a few weeks ago.

WC have declined specialist TMJ physio and pain management request. Have to fight for it now in conciliation while feeling like crap. Psychology approval has run out, but am going to have to go anyway and pay myself cos this is so stressful and depressing...but wait; how do I talk to her with such a sore jaw?????

Ps. WC asked 2 medical professionals who have both professed to have no area of expertise in TMJ (jaw) for their opinion on whether I should have this treatment for my TMJ and based their rejection on these 2 opinions. They did NOT ask the opinion of my oral specialist!!!

Feeling very down, in pain, and very angry and frustrated at a system that wastes so much time, energy and resources trying to get out of paying for treatment for people who need it....not to mention adding unnecessary stress to the person with CP's already challenged life.

Sorry everyone...."hi" and hugs to everyone who is struggling at the moment....and hugs even if you're not.
