Hi Florrie,

Sorry to hear your experience wasn’t a good one. Having the implant is not something I will be rushing into, first I would like to have a MRI of my spine and sacroiliac joints to determine if anything is going on that hasn’t shown up previously.

Since having Rhizotomy things have eased off a lot provided I don’t do any physical work, weight bearing or stooping it soon let’s me know the pain hasn’t left.

I see my specialist at the end of the month.

Thank you for your comments it’s all worth consideration.

Michael,

I'm very pleased to hear you would not rush into having a stim implanted. Your previous comments had me assuming you would undertake the trial without much persuasion which concerned me!

Great news your recent Rhizotomy has brought you some relief, despite not being life changing and being able to do activities you would like to. When stims are successful, patients often don't get a great deal of function back, but rather better quality of life with pain levels.

Take care, all the best

totally agree with Florrie, I haven't gained much function back in my life, but I do seem to manage my pain better, as long as I don't do much

its not really a good solution, but nobody knows what is the solution

I am also having strange nerve pain coming from my lower back and right leg ... this is a real bummer because I had a rhyzotomy done a couple of months ago and the result was extremely painful for the 1st 4 weeks but the last few weeks it had flipped and I was in very little nerve pain at all .... though I still have and I think will always have pain in my lumbar and neck .. But now it’s back to feeling like shit, 2weeks after seeing my neurosurgeon and telling him I’m feeling good .. He told me I either need the nerve implant stimulator and or a sacroiliac fusion .. And I said I’m feeling ok and I’ll see how I am in a couple of months and now it’s back to pain pain pain. F#%}ING over it

hi Michael,
sorry to hear about your pain returning, are you able to get another appt with neurosurgeon, or maybe talk over the phone - possibly?

I too have had my pain return with vengeance and im not too happy, currently have the SCS but it addresses only the nerve pain in my lumbar spine, all the day to day pain is still there, but now my cervical and thoracic areas previously operated are also giving me grief

feeling pretty miserable with it too
