It's actually interesting how many trials are out there. The issue is that unless your gp makes you aware or nominates you you cant find them or cant get enrolled in them.
I understand your frustration with the psychology sector I was also referred about 2 months ago still waiting.
I'm surprised they gave you a copy of the report I cant even get a copy of my mri report.
This is true had one last week .Rang pain specialist to find result and was told I would have to take it up with the surgeon. 3 days later after many calls to surgeon I get a reply from secretary saying nothing to be concerned about. This is where the physiologist comes in I gather..
Best of luck getting on a trial and getting a psychologist soon

David you would think our gp’s should inform us on what ever trials are out there , when we try everything else to help ourselves and nothing makes an impact on the pain levels.
Oh yes my gp has always given me copies of my reports and results of blood test. He said I should have a copy so if I see anyone else I take it with me. If another dr refers me I always ask for a copy of the report to be sent to him and my osteopath. Atleast they can’t say you have normal wear and tear, oh boy that gets my goat. It’s not normal by any means .
Sometimes I really wish I could give them my pains just for 24 hours. I know it’s mean but one way to get things done.
Nice day to you xx

Hi Brett
Further to our discussion I .see went to see my gp
He tells me the surgeon and pain specialist decided I need a spine stimulator fitted.
Now as i said to gp why didnt pain specialist say this to me last visit and he is at a loss to explain it either. He is a straight shooter my gp so I generally trust him.
He is going to take the issue up with them .
So now I have a decision to make whether drugs and hope it improves or s stimulator.
I've heard mostly negative things about stimulators but will do some research.
Hope you are feeling a bit better

Yes my GP is the same. That’s how you want them too .
I hope you make the right decision for yourself.
I would have a stimulator now if I passed all the criteria. Then wouldn’t have to take half these meds yuk. Yes I too have heard bad things. But also some people have great success.
That’s good to research as much as you can . Then arm yourself with a heap of questions to help you make your decision. Good luck

Hi David,
Give it time mate a stimulator is only as good as
The person who fits it
Is it being fitted for the right reason
They don’t always work for nerve pain
Be sure you don’t get something fitted without a trial first

Johnno

as long as I wake up alive I'm happy
Because it could be worse
