Hi
My Auslan teacher has moved away this week so I cant contact her at the moment but I think the Auslan organisation for your state or hospital should be able to point you in the right direction.
The 2 online Auslan dictionaries are
www.bilby.net
www.signplanet.com
You can learn alot of the signs from there but it it really helps to have a teacher in person at the begining.
I will add more information as it comes to hand.

I asked neurologist if a whole extra Botox jaw protocol could be added to my migraine one, but he told me that I am having the maximum amount of Botox that you can inject into a person at one time (and it hasn't even got rid of my wrinkles cos a lot of it is into the back of my head, doh!) so we decided to just keep the Botox for the headaches, migraines, neck and shoulder pain because it is effective in bringing those pain levels down and, instead, look at other ways to manage the jaw. I agree with him because if you do find something that helps with one part of your condition, I reckon, don't rock the boat on that one!
Found out yesterday why my pain levels had gone through the roof just lately...cracked large filling in one of my molars so the pain was referring up into the gums and jaw. Already super sensitised, so this took it over the edge! Had tooth refilled, which was a challenge for dentist as I can't open very wide or for too long. Thank goodness my dentist has an understanding of TMJ (he was going to specialise in it, but baled out once he got part way into it and discovered the minefield that it is!)
Hopefully over the next week or so, now that the tooth is refilled, all the nerves will settle down again to regular pain levels.
Still interested to hear how you got your jaw pain Wendles and how it's been treated thus far.
Fee I would have asked for some happy gas or have it done under anaesthetic to limit the pain involved having a tooth filled, but I suppose that would have meant waiting and more pain, hopefully it settles down soon and your pain levels subside considerably.
Hi Fee
My jaw pain is linked to my nerve damage in my neck. My neck was jerked when holding a horse that rared up. This has caused pain at the base of the neck, back of the head, shoulders. This pain or damage is triggering migranes upto 5 a week. There is also weakening down left arm and lastly swelling in the right side of the jaw. The swelling has caused the jaw to become misalined so I can not bite well. When eating I can get shooting pains, grinding and a chrunching feeling. I have a constant ache at the side of my jaw. As for treatment there is none the doctors are to busy dealing with the main problem which has proved difficult to treat. I have been to my dentist and scared him with the extent of the problem and it was way out his area. He sent me for xrays (didnt really help) and found a specialist in Brisbane (18 hours away) but was already juggling treatment for other and then a new injury aswell, so it sort of got forgotten.
So there is the story of my jaw definitely no nice bedtime story.
